LDK Consultants is pleased to announce our engagement with UN-Habitat to deliver a significant Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change initiative in Jordan as part of the Adaptation Fund Regional Project “Increasing the resilience of both displaced persons (DPs) and host communities to climate change-related water challenges in Jordan and Lebanon”.

In partnership with the Royal Scientific Society, we have been tasked with the development of Climate Resilient Urban Master Plans and setting up Urban Observatories for the municipalities of Irbid and Mafraq, addressing urban risks at the subnational level.

These climate change and gender mainstreamed plans will comprehensively assess climate change vulnerabilities, with a particular focus on water scarcity challenges and the impacts of population growth, including migration trends of displaced persons (DPs) in these municipalities. Through a participatory approach, we aim to empower decision-makers and communities to adapt to climate change challenges, and to make their cities more resilient to climate change impacts, ensuring ownership and sustainability.

Our involvement in the project underscores our commitment to providing functional climate adaptation solutions while fostering resilience in communities and working together toward a sustainable future.
