Within the framework of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) project “Education Energy Efficiency Project in Montenegro”, LDK Consultants conducted energy audits in 25 identified education buildings, with a total area of more than 115.000 m2 and 23.600 beneficiaries, located in 10 major cities in Montenegro.
Aligned with the EBRD Green Economy Transition (GET) initiative, the project aims to promote and support green investments, by renovating buildings via the implementation of resource efficiency (building envelope renovation, HVAC replacement, efficient lighting installation) and renewable energy (PVs, solar heating collectors) measures.
In this respect, the dedicated investment is expected to reduce the building's energy consumption, and in turn, its operational costs as well as to improve its overall (thermal, visual, and acoustic) indoor comfort and structural safety. In addition, due to the targeted building use, the project is expected to have a wider social impact, promoting energy efficiency benefits to the local Montenegrin communities.
