Provided services included LDK's expertise in:
- the SEVESO Directive;
- design and implementation of Database and GIS applications;
- the performance of safety studies;
- the identification of land uses;
- emergency planning.
Description
Scope of the project was the preparation of External Emergency Plans for the industries falling in the SEVESO II Directive, concerning major accidents involving hazardous substances.
The specific objectives of the project were as follows:·
- to review and if necessary update the official register of industries falling in the scope of the Directive, taking into consideration its recent revision;
- to develop a data base, linked with a GIS application, capable to process real-time data, in order to facilitate decision making and organisation of the Emergency Plan;
- to develop External Emergency Plans for more than 100 industries and Industrial areas in Greece, based on data from the Safety Studies, Land Uses and in close cooperation with the authorities and institutions involved in the Emergency Planning;
- to promote cooperation and well-understanding of the foreseen actions within the Emergency Plan, by the authorities and institutions involved.
