The Sustainable Water Integrated Management and Horizon 2020 Support Mechanism (SWIM-H2020 SM) Project
Working for a Sustainable Mediterranean, Caring for our Future

The SWIM-H2020 SM is a regional, European-Union funded service contract which aims to assist the MENA countries (Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, [Syria] and Tunisia)* in sustainable water management and reduced marine pollution.

The Project is the continuation and merging of two successful previous EU-funded service contracts, Horizon 2020 Capacity Building/Mediterranean Environment Programme (H2020 CB/MEP) (2009-2014) and the Sustainable Water Integrated Management Support Mechanism (SWIM SM) (2010-2015).     

The Project will play a key advisory role to all Ministries of Water and Environment, also extending to Ministries of Industry, Agriculture, Tourism as well as Local Authorities, Water Utilities, private sector and civil society.

* Eligibility of specific actions might be extended to the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro), Mauritania and Turkey.

LDK Group has been leading the effort of sustainable water management and reduced marine pollution in the area since 2004, undertaking a multitude of advisory studies on behalf of the European Commission (EC), European Investment Bank (EIB), the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and Plan Bleu that have greatly contributed to the concerted efforts of the beneficiary countries and the coordination of the donor community.
