Mr. Stavros Damianidis, CEO of LDK Consultants, participated in the Consultative Forum on Advancing Entrepreneurship in Kenya’s Renewable Energy Sector, Nairobi, 05.07.2016.
LDK Consultants, a Greek energy consultancy with 48 years history of sustainable development, has also a subsidiary in Nairobi and highly interested in contributing to Kenya’s renewable energy sector.

The forum was organized by the Strathmore Business School and the Fuel Freedom Chair on Energy and Social Development at IESE Business School.
One of the key issues of the forum was the “EmPOWERing Africa” Educational Project on Renewable Energy that was launched by the Clinton Global Initiative and implemented in partnership with IESE, Business school of the University of Navarra (Spain) and the Strathmore Business School, Africa’s leading university renowned for using entrepreneurial approaches.
Representatives of government, the private sector and bodies of the renewable energy industry sector, professionals in academia were informed on the goals of the “EmPOWERing Africa” Project, on the promotion of the alternatives to oil and gasoline, the use of renewable energy.
The Project aims to empower local investors to take action based on proven solutions and provide a platform for constructive interaction.

The renewable energy sector in Kenya is among the most active in Africa. Kenya aims to increase generation capacity by 5,000 MW by 2016 and by 23,000 MW by 2030.
